Music

Studies show that music is beneficial to your health and mental well-being. Music is also a great way to worship and connect with God and community. Bethel offers a few different ways to make music.

If you love singing, we want you! Our volunteer choir is always open to new members. We sing a variety of songs for Sunday morning worship, from classical to spirituals to rock to old and new favorites. Just come to rehearsal and join in! Rehearsals are Thursday nights 7:30 p.m fall through spring, with summers off. Contact Andrea Schweizer through the church office at 317-293-1133 or contact us online [link] to find out about our next practice.

Handbells

Make beautiful music with the handbell choir. Even if you’ve never played before, we can help you learn! We have players of all levels and abilities. Community Outreach

Diaper Pantry

Diapers and baby supplies are expensive. One in three American mothers cannot afford diapers for their children. Bethel has partnered with the Indiana Diaper Bank to form a Pike Township baby pantry based at the church. The pantry is named “Sweet Cheeks” and is open the third Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon. The pantry supplies diapers, baby blankets and other supplies to residents of the surrounding townships.

Food Pantry

The recent COVID-19 global health crisis only increased the need for food assistance in Pike Township. Bethel has established a food pantry to help supply essentials to those in need. If you need food, food boxes are available for pickup at the church by request. Each box contains food for approximately one week for a family of four.

Community Partnerships

Bethel has been part of the Pike Township area for a long time. We celebrate the great work being done in our community. Some of our community partnerships include an Easter egg coloring contest with the OrthoIndy Foundation YMCA and local police and firefighters, summer reading bags for Central Elementary School students, food pantry donations from Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, handmade mask and baby blanket donations from Circles of Love, and partnering with the Riley Center on a Chocolate and Children event, winter coat drive, Christmas family gifts, and arts and crafts supplies for their summer youth programs. We look forward to building even more relationships!

Mission of the Month

Each month a designated outreach project is supported monetarily through donations and collections.
